The use of masks, along with social distancing, are simple measures that can allow us to continue to enjoy our favorite outdoor activities like parks and open spaces. As we continue to deal with the reality of the virus still present, we need to protect ourselves and those around us.

  1. Masks–particulalry when they are constantly adjusted by grubby hands–are bacteria containers that encourage disease transmission. They are not fitted, collect and transmit disease, and are hurtful. In Epidemics 2017, a meta-analysis concluded that masks had a non-significant protective effect. In the Annuals of Internal Medicine, April 2020, “neither surgical nor cotton masks effectively filtered SARS-CoV-2 during coughs by affected people.”
According to a University of New South Wales, the widespread use of masks by healthcare workers may put them at increased risk of respiratory illness and viral infections, and their global use should be discouraged.
In the British Medical Journal 2015, “Over three times, the risk of contracting influenza-like illness if a cloth mask is used versus no mask at all.” Contaminated masks and masks holding moisture and pathogen retention can increase the risk of infection. A 2016 study in the Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology found 97% of particles penetrated cloth masks, and 44% of particles penetrated medical masks. They reported that cloth masks are only marginally beneficial in protecting individuals from particles less than 2.5 micrometers. As referenced in the New England Journal of Medicine, the size of Coronavirus particles varied between 0.06 micrometers and 0.14 micrometers. Stop the symbolic nature of this poor information.

  2. Our passport to the Colorado we love is getting Polis out of office and ensuring no one like him takes his seat.

  3. You don’t OWN COLORADO. You’ve ruined it. And now there’s a movement coming to take Colorado back from the socialists who are ruining it. Many whom are relocating and a lot moving back in. Your time is running out.

  4. Masks are the biggest bs ever. I’ve done so much reading and video on the subject that my head is about to explode. Masks are NOT the solution. Legitimate studies show minimal if not zero benefit. No mask can nor does claim ability to prevent virus transmission. A recent study posted at CDC shows no difference in disease transmission between those who wear masks and those who don’t. Further, mask wearing is harmful to the health of some. Folks with copd should not be wearing them. This practice concentrates exhausted Co2 and bacteria between one’s face and the mask. Bacteria grows in this moist confined environment putting the wearer at risk of illness and infection. Recently a woman shared that her daughter contracted a lung infection as a result. Co2 is also a powerful anesthesia. Some people, including me, experience dizziness from wearing masks. I personally experience ambulatory problems also and have much more headache frequency. I am no alone. The horrible large volume of sweat on the face for those who work physical jobs is a big problem. Long term use forces people to handle the mask frequently, which nullifies the purpose. If you care to do real honest thorough research on the matter you’ll find it really isn’t the answer. I 100% oppose the efforts to force the wearing of masks.

  5. Thank you for setting an appropriate example. WHO talks about when and how to use a mask and things to think about when making the decision. Opening up our state and putting people in closer contact with each other means wearing a mask makes common sense in many situations. Thank you for your compassion and support.

  6. The riots killed the virus! Get back to life, Colorado. Take your #Freedom back!! #PlanDem #ScamDemic #Socialism
