The Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) is the flagship program introduced to Central America by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). FETP graduates, also known as “Disease Detectives”, strengthen the capacity of the public health workforce to investigate and respond to disease outbreaks.
With CDC training and mentorship, FETP is helping Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic be better prepared to stop epidemics and health threats through monitoring, data evaluation and surveillance.
